What are the different types of shower arms and heads?
Horizontal Shower Arms: Horizontal shower arms are generally wall mounted and extend into the shower horizontally. Horizontal shower arms are available in a range of different sizes, giving you the flexibility to position your shower-head optimally for your shower.
Vertical Shower Arms: Vertical shower arms are installed from the ceiling and extend downwards towards the shower. Vertical shower arms are available in a range of different sizes to accommodate for various different ceiling heights.
Gooseneck Shower Arms: Gooseneck shower arms are wall mounted and have a distinctive curved design. Unlike traditional straight arms, gooseneck shower arms can extend the height of your shower head, making them a particularly good option for lower water inlets or taller individuals.
Shower Heads: Shower heads are generally available in either a round or square shape and a thick or thin design. They are usually available in sizes between 200mm to 300mm in diameter and can be easily installed or replaced due to their standard thread size.
Can I replace my existing shower head?
Yes, you can easily replace your old or existing shower head with a new shower head. Most shower arms and shower heads contain a standard G1/2" thread, allowing for a screw-in installation. It is always recommended to have a licensed professional install any new tapware or plumbing fixtures.
What materials are shower arms and shower heads made of?
Shower arms and shower heads are generally made of materials such as brass and stainless steel. These materials are durable, easy-to-maintain and resistant to corrosion, making them a great option for the shower. Shower heads are also made from ABS due to its lightweight, durable and cost-efficient properties.
